Every shoot is different and the rates vary greatly for each one. There are a lot of factors to consider, including location fees, travel, length of the session, equipment needs, personnel (including hair and makeup professionals, wardrobe, grips, etc.), number of finished/edited images desired, and intended use of the finished photos. There can also be a big difference between the different types of photography, for example a fashion shoot, model portfolio or calendar shoot is significantly different than a youth sports or youth camp shoot. Shoots with individuals are also different than groups.
The most important thing for me is that you get images we are both happy with and excited about!
The best way for me to determine an accurate rate for you is to have a consultation first so we can decide together what is right for you. We can do this over the phone or through email - you can contact me through this site or if you are a member of any of the sites at the bottom of the page feel free to reach me through one of them.
My goal is to exceed your expectations regardless of whether this is a simple portrait or a commercial project - I put my best into every shoot!
All that being said, there are some guidelines in pricing to give you an idea of what a basic shoot might cost. I require a $100 deposit for scheduling a shoot, which is non-refundable if you do not cancel at least 48 hours in advance. This deposit is then applied to the charge for the shoot, which starts at $200 for a two hour shoot plus $75 for each additional hour. That rate includes multiple "looks" and wardrobe changes and up to five edited photos, along with a cd or web gallery of all the unedited photos. Additional photo editing is available on a per-image basis. This does not include travel beyond the Topeka/Lawrence/Kansas City area, does not include assistants or hair and make-up people, location fees, or special equipment.
I am asked frequently about TFCD (Time for CD) or TFP (Time for Prints) shoots and will on occasion work this way with people I consider to be exceptional models and people I feel could be beneficial to my portfolio.
